The Laurence Singers perform Roger Shelmerdine’snew work commemorating the centenary of the World War One Armistice.  Recalling events such as the tragic sacrifice of The Accrington Pals and the experiences of women and children living through devastating times, Shelmerdine’s remarkable composition is both heart-breaking and uplifting.  It is inspired by poetry and writing of the time, with a strong music hall influence providing moments of dark humour.
