The Laurence Singers finally got back on stage to perform the 1st concert in their 50th Anniversary musical celebrations. We performed at Wilmslow URC, a super venue and a good night was had by all.
The choir made a tremendous impression on the audience despite having 9 singers and the usual conductor, Cliff Crewe, absent because of Covid. The stand in conductor, Kath Buckley, at less than a week’s notice, led the reduced choir magnificently which was determined not to allow anything to prevent it performing for the first time in two and a half years.
The audience were entertained by a wide variety of music enhanced by the superb performances of Richard Brocklehurst (Organ) and Lauren Turner (Piano).
We also raised £500 for the Ukraine Disasters Emergency Appeal with a raffle and donations.
It’s great to be back performing again. Have a look at our gallery for some pictures from the evening.
Join us for our next concert on 14th May at Heald Green Methodist Church.
